I'm writing for help for my little sister. She's 8 and still wetting her bed at night, so she wears diapers for that. My family is taking a vacation to California in 3 weeks. We're all driving from Colorado to California. My parents already told my sister that they are going to make her wear the diapers during the day time, when in the car and maybe even when we get to California. My sister is very upset by this, she doesn't like the diapers to begin with but now she really doesn't like the idea she's going to be wearing them during the day time now. My parents argument is that if she falls asleep in the car, she might wet herself and then she'll need a diaper on. She hasn't worn diapers during the day in a really long time and now all of a sudden my parents are making her. I feel so badly awful for her and know how embarrassed she might be. She asked me to help her to get my parents to change their mind, so I'm trying to think of ways to help her. I told my mom maybe she can just sit on towels in the car but my mom told me that it really isn't my business and that I'm not the parent so it's not my choice to decide what to do with my sister. I know my sister is going to be so miserable on the vacation if she is going to be wearing diapers. My sister has told me a bunch of stuff on why she doesn't want to wear diapers and i've told that to my parents but they aren't really listening to me.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can help my sister, maybe even if to just have a good time on vacation? Thanks and hugs;)

So she wore a diaper last night, there's no way my parents will ever think she likes wearing them! She wasn't happy at all wearing it. It took my dad to get it on her because she was protesting and avoiding getting it on before we left the house. So they know she doesn't like wearing them if she's going to be awake or try to be awake. I tried telling her there was no way I could tell she had a diaper on. I told her it wasn't going to be all that bad and it was only for a few hours. The rest of the time she calmed down and it went well, we had fun with the fireworks show. We got some dinner and ice cream so she was a little bit happier even with wearing a diaper.
Today me, her and my mom went clothes shopping. We went to get her some clothes she can wear on the trip and wear over the diaper. She got 2 pairs of shortalls, one denim and one some other lighter fabric. They are a kind of coveralls but shorts style. she got them because she told my mom she wasn't going to wear shorts on the trip if she had to wear a diaper. So at least these will help hide her diaper better. she tried them on at the store but wasn't wearing a diaper but I can tell it will work for her, at least I think so. Well, at least my parents are trying to help her by getting her new clothes to wear to help her hide the diapers. I guess that's good.

So the diapers for sister went okay. She wore them most of the time while we were away. My parents let her wear some underwear for a day in San Francisco so at least she got a break from the diapers for a little while. We started out leaving our house in the morning and she started out wearing diapers right away. She did pretty well in them, she did complain sometimes but wasn't as bad as I was thinking she would be. The drive took us 2 days to get to California and it was boring a little, it was a lot of driving and sitting in the car so it got boring. We did stop for bathroom breaks but my sister did go in her diapers few time. I know she took some naps and peed in her diaper so I guess my parents were right to have her wear them in the car. We drove from San Francisco down the coast to Santa Barbara. Along the coast was amazing. My parents were right, there weren't any real bathroom stops for us so with my sister in her diaper, she could go anytime she had to, that was good for her I guess. I even had a hard time holding it long enough for breaks. My sister didn't really want to pee in her diaper on purpose but my dad told her that a few times, there was no where to stop for a bathroom. I could tell my sister was embarrassed at first but then I think she got used to it. I did help her change them 3 times. I think it helped that I was the one helping her, not my parents. Her fear of everyone finding out she was wearing diapers really wasn't all that bad. I don't think anyone else could tell but us. I never really saw her diaper out in the open and couldn't really tell she had one on. So I don't think anyone else ever knew it.
I would say after this trip, my parents were right. Go figure! hehe. I think it was a good idea to have her wear a diaper. I didn't see anything that made it worse or embarrassing for her, no one ever knew and we didn't know anyone we saw anyways! My sister didn't wet any of her clothes, didn't have any leaks or accidents without the diaper on and it worked, it caught all her peeing. So it was good she didn't have any wet clothes on at all and she didn't have to change any wet clothes. It was good for my parents, there was no extra laundry for them to do.
Well, we had a great time and i had lots of fun with my family. I think my sister had a great time even if she was wearing diapers a lot. I'll put up pictures in photo album when I have time. I got to se the Golden Gate bridge up close and in real life!
