I'm new to this site and I found it looking for forums or message boards for parents of older children dealing with bedwetting. My son just turned 11 in October and he still has issues staying dry at night. His pediatrician knows about it, he's been tested for diabetes and seen a urologist, but there is no medical cause fortunately. Right now we have him in pullups at night but those sometimes leak and have led to a lot of extra laundry for me. The problem is very frustrating for me and for him, and I'd love to talk to other parents who are going through the same thing

I agree, diapers are much better than pull ups. I used to wear goodnites but they always leak. My mom made me go back to diapers and I didn't like it because either my parents or sister had to put them on and I was embarrassed but they didn't leak so now I like them. I hated waking up in a wet bed

Hi Lauren,
I know its a difficult since I have been bed wetting since middle school. I wore Goodnites until they started to leak. We switched to regular style diapers until we found Abena Abri-Flex Premium. Haven't had any leaks with this pull-up. Might want to give those a try.

Hi Swimmergirl. I wish I could use those but my mom says I an not allowed to put on my own diapers. Only her or my sister or babysitter can put on mine.

Hey, I'm 14 and I don't have any 'medical reasons' to wet the bed but it still happens. Unfortunately it's just something that people like me and your son have to deal with. I know extra laundry from leaks must be annoying (me and my mum have it as well sometimes) but don't be mad at him if he can't help it. He probably finds it annoying that he still wets the same as me. Love angel

I’m 12 and still wet to my mom said I’m healthy just don’t wake up to go to bathroom. I hope to outgrow it someday.

Has your son been tested for Sleep Apnea? He does not have to snore or be overweight to have it...and bedwetting (nocturia) is one of the symptoms in both adults and children...more so in kids. Just a thought.

I just posted about my 13 year old finally staying dry after taking out gluten from his diet. I'm not trying to give false hope and I was very skeptical of this as gluten-free is touted to cure everything from cancer to stupidity :). I don't know if this will work for everyone, but it worked for him. Might be worth a try

Frustrating yes but workable solutions. Since your son is already used to wearing protection I would suggest cloth diapers with plastic pants. You can use baby diapers as stuffers and make the diapers as thick as necessary to avoid leaks. Of course you also need plastic pants that fit well around legs and waist. I find for mys of the high waisted style of plastic pants work best
