You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

I was pull free from mid November to mid January! Then February turned into this horrible black pit of destruction.
But you know what? Forget my worries about my job. Forget my worries about my weight. Forget my worries about... um.... death and existentialism?
Until Easter, Trish has just one goal. One focus. One project we are working on.
And that is.....
Do not touch your head. Sit on your hands. When you catch yourself thinking negative thoughts, write them down, or breath.
I have one goal, which is......... hold myself accountable once again for when I pull out my hair, because honestly, I DO NOT LIKE IT!!!!

I don't really know how to label this but I having a rough week and I can't say it's one thing.... I have a lot on my plate which is nothing new and I try to cope in many positive ways and do but I still have my moments. My kids more so my daughters talk to me about everything which I know it's cause of comfort and we are close.... however I really struggle with the venting about their dad which...

And YAY for those pf two months, you're awesome.
You can do this, I have no doubt.
OK WE ARE DOING PRETTY GOOD.....
Friday I only pulled out like eight hairs. Today I did not pull out any although after 4.00 I definitely got a little sloppy and started picking at the tips.
The things that are working for me that I didn't have before are:
1- Positive attitude. I try to think about things I am excited about for the future, as opposed to anguishing about all the ways I am a "failed" writer, gym-goer, and productive citizen of the human race. It just feels like in February I WAS SO DEPRESSED. Now I am slowly crawling out of it.
2- AWARENESS. Every time I find myself chewing, picking, or touching my hair, I remove my hand, sit on it (if I am not typing), breathe, and REMIND MYSELF that I need to ACTIVELY resist my urges.
3- I tell myself, "I am in *recovery.* This is the only thing I have to focus on in my life right now. My main goal is to break my lifelong habit of pulling out my hair. EVERYTHING I do has to be directed towards this ONE GOAL at the moment. I am committed to my RECOVERY."
So I am PUTTING A STICKER ON MY CALENDER TODAY. YES!!!! CONSISTENCY OVER TIME!!!
AAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was really enjoying having a positive attitude. I WANT TO GET IT BACK!!
You are doing it!
Hugs!
Your boss sounds like a piece of work. From this an past things you've mentioned.
Yeah, self loathing of myself and seeing myself as a failure, particularly in regards to my work, is my biggest trigger too. I struggle with this too, going back and forth from being happy with where I am to feeling ashamed I'm not further along.
Bleh. Congrats on your one day pf though, you can get another sticker!
