I just got out of a verbally abusive relationship. It went on for six months. We were never really friendly and just rushed into the BF GF thing. When I tried to talk about my physical health he sigh exasperated from the first word. From the second date when I told him I was allergic to a particular food many people can eat (and I am, diagnosed by a doctor, Deathly allergic to this food), he waved some of it in my face.

I am sitting here thinking, I need counseling but I can't afford it. SO here I am on dailystrength, admitting this to all of you. that's all

I'll be honest, it sounds like you're dating or "were" dating a 14 year old. Anyone waving food in your face or not understanding health conditions is someone not very adept in thinking about others aside from themselves. Pretty simple. Cool pic of Barbra.

sorry about the crappy relationship, at least you knew it was crappy, sometimes it is easier to just be by yourself, i wouldnt worry about counseling if it is just for that many people do the same thing.

Glad you lost the looser! You deserve better much better, I wouldn't say you needed counseling unless you are like I was and keep being attracted to loosers. Once I was done with counseling I could see the loosers coming a mile away and was repulsed instead of attracted.
Some women don't have the strength of character to get out of abusive relationships. I'm really glad you had that strength!!!!

My mom always said, "if you settle for second best that is all you will get." That goes for guys as well. Consider youself 6 months more educated on relationships! Congradulations! It took me 13 years to graduate from that same class. Hugs! :) Julie

I am allegric to milk, chesse and anything dairy and my man when he has cheese goes to another room and eats.When we go out for tea, he always ask no dairy.
When the right guy comes along, which their are, he will treat you like a queen.

g'morning stef, you got some good feedback here, and probably will get more. You might not feel lucky but in the end you will be grateful to have moved out of that abusive relationship. Atleast you saw it for what it was- abusive. Total disregard for someone's health conditions to the point of putting them in danger IS abusive! I agree with grammy here, you need to see if you are continually attracted to these types of relationships or if this was a one time deal. We usually gravitate towards (subconsciously) what we are used to so explore past relationships and see if there is a common thread. As for counseling, it never hurts to go talk with someone, if you have the insurance- why not? xoxoLyn
