Sending pain relieving thoughts...
I will try to make this short. In 2003, I went to PCP with leg pain and he told me then I had DDD and sent me to Orthopedic dr. and he told me a disc at L5 S1 was on a nerve and I had to have surgery which helped that problem. In 2004, I had same thing in neck so he did fusion. Time passed, and I was going on about my business picking up stuff and started having pain again. I think once you have surgery it just keeps getting worse. He said I had collapsed disc below where he did surgery so he said a fusion would fix it but he did not recommend it and Neuro said the same thing. So everytime I pick up something or go on a trip.it gets to the point of where I am today, in pain. He sent me to pain clinic and first of year, I had to change pain dr's and my appt. is Feb 21 and I am begging to get it pushed up. My new PCP said he could not help me b/c I am already on narcotics.
I am going to go to doc in box tomorrow hopefully he can give me a shot. I think it is inflammation. This has been going on since Dec 25. The pain starts when I start doing things and what am I supposed to do just sit. Just a little summary of how it all started.

I have all sorts of problems in my spine -
sciatica (herniated discs ) in the cervical.
stenosis -( trapped nerves ) in the lumbar
cancer in the thoracic spine.
And yet - right now I am pain free.
Why -
I use a combination of methods to stop the pain.
One thing will not do it.
I use stretching.
I use cardio at a regular gym to strengthen m core muscles.
I use a percussion vibrator for flare up pains and aches.
I use ice for severe flare ups.
I use medicines to control the condition.
I sleep on a very thick memory foam topper for my back.
I sleep on a feather pillow for my hear (cervical spine)
I sleep with a rubber pillow under my knees for my lumbar spine.
medicaines -
I take many different type -
Aleve for inflamation - very important.
ranitidine - to protect my tummy from the aleve.
Muscle relaxer for the muscles surrounding the spine to help them to relax. You eed a prescription for this.
Gabapentin for nerve pain - big help. Not something you should enter into lightly.
I also take vitamins for this problem -
vitamin D and calcoum to get my vitamin D levels up to normal (at least 35) .
I hope that my method is some help to you.
