My Pain Management Dr gave me a Nerve Block for my back the last time I went.
It didnt' really work at all. He mentioned the next thing we can try, are Radio Frequency injections. I just read up on this, on WEB MD.com
It said there, that this treatment can relieve pain for 6 months up to a year, and for some people several years!!
I have an appointment with the Pain Management Center this month, so I am going to ask for a referral to do this Radio Frequency treatment. I guess it's more painful, for a few days after, and you get soreness and bruising...
But, they put you under anesthesia./mild sedative, so you will be awake, but won't be able to feel anything to severe, just enough to let them know what is working, when they are doing this via Fluroscope xray machine.
I figure what the heck!! More pain relief is what I need!! Ck it out at WEB MD, and read it for yourself.

I guess this treatment doesn't have those same rules...It's better for them to use this, rather than the nerve block, in regards to your body/joints.

Let me know how it works for you! You know, curiosity killed the cat! LOL!! I just got my copay & deductible (over $1000)... oy! I about had a heart attack. I am looking for something permanent so I don't have to pay this copay once a year! Good luck!!! I am going to google it myself!!

I just found out my copays and deductable are all met.. so for the rest of the month all is paid 100% Thank GOD!!!!!!!!!!
I do have the bills to pay that got nme to this point but Now they will STOP piling up.. Maybe I can Catch up..

what it actually does, it burns the nerve...which in turn will help the pain. What ya can't feel , doesn't hurt I guess , to sum it up.
Ask your Dr about it, or search on the web like I did. I'm going to see If I can set it up with my pain management center. I go on Sept. 3rd, so i'll ask her to set up an appointment for it.....as the dr said, we could try that next time.
I'm in so much pain tonight, I can't hardly breath. I have to stay still, to have he pain calm down. If this procedure works, and if what they say, is that it could help your pain for 6 months, up to a year , and for some, longer than that???/
I'm willing to try, cause I am just sick of living in the pain I have. It's getting to the point, that I am miserable feeling this way.

Something HAS TO HELP.. I just don't understand all this with the things medicing can do why CAN'T they help relieve our pain..
Does ice or heat help at all?? Last night I HAD to lay on my heating pad at 6 I went and layed down and then I fell asleep until 4am. time to get up.. It helps and at work I use Ice.. I can't have the elctrical thing here.. LOL

I have a new Dr. at the pain center, who wants me to try them again....but I haven't decided yet. All I know is that this extreme back pain is affecting my job, and my life!! Good Luck to you. I hope it works out!!

Best of luck with the RF ablation. Let us know how it works! I will be getting my sacral joint shot on the 4th. I have my fingers crossed for you!!!
