Have any of you ever used a pain pump? when does the dr think it is the thing to do. What is in the pain pump? The lortab wears off.

The implanted pain pump or intrathecal pump is installed after all kind of medications have been tried with the patient and if they are still in chronic pain and nothing else works (morphine, oxycontyn, methadone, etc.) then the pain management doctor will suggest an intrathecal pain pump, but not before that.
I should say that this is what my PM (pain management) Doc have told me. I hope this helps,
