Back Pain Support Group
Back pain is one of the most common reasons people seek medical care. In fact, about 3 in 4 adults will experience back pain during their lifetime! The term back pain includes pain affecting the neck, midback and low back. Acute back pain may begin suddenly with intense pain but typically lasts fewer than three months. Usually, chronic back pain is persistent, steady, and...

Regardless of what is was...You need better pain control. There are non-opioid pain medications that may help you. Tramadol is one of them, there is also neurontin/gabapentin for neuropathy pain. Hot baths really help me and, lots of rest.
I know how difficult it must have been for you to apply for public benefits. Hold your head high my friend. There is no shame to obtain these benefits...it does not mean your are less a person or less a man. They are there for people who need them and, people who meet qualifications for the program.
I started out as a benefit worker (food stamps, medical, daycare etc) several years ago. I moved to another state and worked in that field as well. I eventually worked myself into a management position which had me work the entire county---everyone in my area who works at the "welfare" offices know me. When I quit in June due to my disabilities...guess what?? I had to walk into one of those offices where I was a manager and apply for benefits. Talk about wanting to shoot your own foot off!
I believe that people do the best they can and, when that is not enough for the basics of living---that is where public benefits come in.
I hope you can try some different pain relief and, I hope that you apply for SSDI. HUGS to you and your wife. In support!
