I have come to the conclusion my old mattress is shot and time has come to get a new one. My question for all of you is any advice on brands of mattress that are best for people for low back pain. I would nearly anything for a normal sold 7 to 8 hours of sleep with out having pain wake me in the middle of the night.

I don't know the brands to suggest I'm afraid but certainly a new mattress may be what you need-I have heard mixed things on those number beds=so like everything else..high price doesn't mean the best quality

Check out this site http://www.sleeplikethedead.com It is a comparison of all types of beds/bedding and helps with making a decision. For my aching spine, I ended up with a talalay latex (all natural) with a wool topper to control the moisture/heat build up that is common with all synthetic materiasl. I have scoliosis and can only sleep in one position so I don't have any wiggle room on what "might work" nor can I afford any more mistakes in purchases. Latex is expensive but worth it and if I had found this site sooner, I would not have wasted my money on inner spring mattresses. PS just because a mattress store offers a long warranty, doesn't mean they honor it without making you jump through hoops of fire, check out reviews for the seller also. Bedding is the 3rd largest purchase we make in life (not counting the fancy engagement ring).

I have a tempurpedic with adjustable/massage base. Love this mattress! It is horrible when first bringing it home because it needs to be used so it can soften, after that happened there was no going back to anything else. Had kids jumping on bed to help it soften. Good luck
