Bama, The Avatar is the new picture that you posted.... :-) I don't know about Norco, but all of my meds are generics, and I find that they work as good as the brand name ones. Call your Pharmacist, he should know about this one. Take care!

generic brands are often cheaper than the actual brands names.
generic brands were made to make some competition for the brand names to lower prices on the medications.
i use generic names and find they work as well as the brand names.

I have noticed one thing with my meds, they seem to work better on an empty stomach, just taking with milk.

There is some difference in the inactive ingredients in generics and brand medications, and there is a slight chance you may have some problem with that. But active ingredients are identical. I would encourage you to get to know your pharmacist.

I have only used one brand of generics that I felt were not as good as another generic I had been using. My norco I believe is also Watson and I find it just as effective as the others I have used. All my meds are generic except a couple that simply are not generic yet as the patent is still in effect and a generic may not be made until the patent expires. My Celexa just went generic and it works very well but costs me way way less. Good luck, good advice on getting to know your pharmacist...I ask mine so many questions sometimes I think he sees me coming and ducks down behind the back counter LOL

The active ingredient is always the same strength in a generic and has to meet quality control standards. The primary difference is in the inactive ingredients, or binders, what holds it all together. Occasionally a person may have a problem with the binders, either not tolerating it in some way or in not digesting it properly and that can affect how well you absorb the medication itself which may reduce effectiveness. That is a rather uncommon problem though. For most people there really is no difference on how well they work.

I had a doctor who used to by a psychopharmocologist who confirmed what has already been said. The inactive ingredients or binders can be different and that can sometimes interfere with the uptake of the drug, although it happens rarely. The drug that he would not prescribe generically was Tegretol.
