None of them helped and each time I had one, my back pain would increase dramatically for days afterwards. I stopped when the epidurals increased my back pain so much I had to go to the ER for morphine.
They do not cure pain, but mask it. They are not meant to be a solution. If it works, you will need to have them every few weeks until the actual problem with your back is solved.
In my case, the pain center wanted to do them every 6 weeks and my insurance would only pay for 4 a year, so if you are insured, you should look into what your coverage will be.

I have been going to the chiropractor and have had allot of luck with easing the sciatic pain. I love the pressure point massages. it hurts so good but it does loosen up the muscles for awhile.
