This subject comes up regularly (pun intended!). I have tried almost every product out there and I've found that Miralax is the only reliable product I've ever used. Had to resort to enemas and other drastic measures before, but with generic Miralax I buy at Walmart, I no longer have any trouble. The key is taking it religiously every day and sometimes doubledosing if necessary. Anyone else have any wonder product they would like to share?

I use Senna daily (capsules) and that works great for me. It's a natural product and stool softener. It never has failed me, and ever since I was a child, I've had problems with constipation so I'm even surprised that this works!! Most of the other products give me horrible cramps -- but this doesn't.

I tried Miralax, and I thought I was going to turn inside out! LOL It definitely works, but just too painful for me.

For me it's been pro-biotics for the last 2 years, and so far so good!

Ummm, I still learning after a very lovely first time experience with Hemi's...I gasp even typing it, very un lady like.

Right now...I am eating two fiberchews a day--like big rolaids-- and I eat 10 prunes everyday. It took about a week or so for my bowls to kick in and move beyond the painful "back up"...now, pretty regular and feel pretty good...

If I take a lot of meds (3 times a day at full dosage) I double dose my fiber and it seems to work well.

I tried everything over the couter and nothing helped my dad gave me some plums and I was back to normal again.

I use a gentle over-the-counter women's laxative that is an overnight type, so if you take it before you bed you wake up in the morning and well, relieve yourself. I use the generic Target brand, and I highly doubt it makes a difference if it says for women or men on the package I just find the women's one a lot more effective than a regular laxative, and obviously it is not something to take on a daily basis!

I eat an Activia yogurt every morning with my meds (coats my stomach as well as relieving the IBS), and I take two fiber supplements two times a day. I get them from Swanson's online -- you don't chew them and they don't foam up and choke you like the ones from the pharmacy.
