I'm sure the doctor has done hundreds of these surgeries and will do a fantastic job. You will be in excellent hands. And I'm glad he said you had to stop smoking before he did this -- it does affect the surgery, as you won't fuse if you smoke. (well, the chances are much less).
You definitely will be in my prayers. Just make sure that YOU put yourself in God's hands when you go into surgery. We will do the praying. lol Keep talking before surgery too -- maybe we can get rid of some of the fear. God bless. Hugs, Lee
