Since we haven't had a lot of posts lately, I thought why not throw out a question I know some of your stories, but not everyone's. I worked until I could work no longer with pain medication, had my back scanned, and was told I needed three surgeries, which I already knew but needed updated information for the file.
I was going to go for the surgeries but I read on the radiologist's report that it looked like there was the possibility of arachnoiditis. i did some research because I didn't know what that was, and then started to question my decision. i then decided since my pain was so widespread, i probably could not ever work again full-time even after the surgeries and I certainly didn't want to add to the possibility of aggravating the arachnoiditis, if indeed I do have it. So I filed for SSDi. i am 50.
So SSA has sent me a questionnaire about my daily living schedule and away we go. Has anyone else filed for SSDI and got turned down or awarded? i just read some stats that about 60 to 70 percent are turned down the first time. So i just plan on being disappointed the first time and then getting an attorney. Honestly, I can't force myself to even think about going back to work again. The pain is bad enough at home, and I have some other health problems that cause a lot of chronic fatigue.

My adopted mother applied a few years back when she could no longer stand for long periods, due to leg, back and nerve issues. As well as anxiety on due dates. She was turned down and then called that Bender and Bender firm who got it for her. That one that is advertised on TV a lot.
I find that weird to say the lease I put all of it down too! I also have sleep apnea which they just found out I had. I did fax to the SSDI people the report? Maybe they didn't get it?
Well good luck getting SSDI.......I heard the same thing you might get turn down several times first.
Well I plan on going to an lawyer if they turn me down once. I don't understand government and why they do what they do....but I think I have problems and they know it so why not fight with fire like they can with a pen.
