i use the 'your a big boy and big boys do not wet the bed, the always potty before they go to bed" thing and IF he goes potty before bed he gets to take his favorite toy to bed and IF he wakes up dry he gets a small piece of candy and i praise him alot. adam has not wet the bed in months but i still praise him every single morning for not wetting the bed. one other thing, you may want to get him up about 30 minutes after he lays down to go potty, then maybe he might be more willing to try. it worked with adam when we first started potty training.

We threaten my daughter with having to wear diapers again. Now, granted, she isn't autistic. My son is not yet potty trained so I have no advice from experiences with him. I'm sure I've been no help whatsoever. But hey, I tried...=)

You and your spouse sleep together? Noah has always slept with me. I have tried to change this, but nothing ever works. My fiancee has gotted used to an empty bed. lol!

Savannah& Stevie always sneek into my bed at night. I try to put them back into there own bed and they most times stay there bu there are times were they get back up and come back in. Do a sticker chart every time he does something good like go potty befor bed or brush your teeth. then when it gets filled up he can do something like pick out a dinner that you want or do something that he really likes. Thats what I have to do. And so far it is working. Hugs and goodluck

about sleeping with you. i just put my foot down about it. i told adam that he might sleep with his nanny and his mommy when he visits them but he would not be sleeping with me. i know it sounds cold hearted, i truly love letting the little ones sleep with me, BUT with an autistic child if you let them once you are going to have them sleeping with you until the end of time. i told his dad i dont let him sleep with me for one reason, because he cant sleep with me when he is 16, or25, or30 yrs old. adam gave me a hard time about it but i used the 'big boy' thing with him over it and now, i dont think i could force him to sleep with me because he thinks only babies sleep with mommies (except for when he is with his real mommy, of course she treats him like a baby so i expect it) and he sleeps with his nanny but he no longer comes home acting like a baby after staying with her. i think she has finally figured out that when she babies him she is actually making his little life harder on him.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to try your ideas, and hopefully something will work. Silly me, I didn't think about his 'rituals'- and yah, I think he will do it until the end of time so long as I let him! I can't believe I hadn't thought about that!
(Ashleybrooke- you DID help! I'm going to try that also! He has this thing against diapers now- he likes the way his little boxer shorts feel better then diapers lol!)
