Hello everyone. I have been off DS for a while and just getting back to some groups. My daughter (age 6) was officially diagnosed with ASD last year. She is higher functioning and some people think she fits into the old diagnosis of Aspergers. Are the people in this group on the spectrum themselves or related to someone on the spectrum?
Hoping to find some more insight into what is going on with my daughter. Though higher functioning (and verbal), the biggest challenge is working memory. She has very little recollection (or means of expressing it) of any day. It's frustrating having people look after her every day, and never have any idea what is going on.

It's tough not being able to check with a child about how their day went. At one point my son's school used a worksheet where he circled the days activities and how he felt
One daycare I had him in sent home daily reports. But most teachers and daycare providers haven't done either. And, even when they do it's not the same as hearing your child's perspective.
I wonder if there are exercises to improve working memory......
