Autism is classified as a neurodevelopmental disorder which manifests itself in markedly abnormal social interaction, communication ability, patterns of interests, and patterns of behavior. Although the specific etiology of autism is unknown, many researchers suspect that autism results from genetically mediated vulnerabilities to environmental triggers.
This is something that, for some reason, came right out of my pen, and I mean/feel every word of it.
I cry because I'm tired. I cry because I'm sad. I cry because my little boy shouldn't have to deal with all this. The tears blur my vision, and I'm having a hard time seeing until the tears serve their true purpose: to cleanse my view, to cleanse my image of everything that was and everything that is. It's given me the true sight of what I should be seeing: the beauty of my little boy, the beauty of his strength and fortitude, the beauty of my little boy staring Autism right in the eyes and saying, "You control me no more. I will win. I will be victorious over you, step by tiny step." He does this through his actions, his triumphs, his achievements.
I cry for what my little boy and what he can't do, but because of these tears, I get a clear picture of what he can and will soon be able to do. My tears of sadness will turn to tears of joy, and we will celebrate him for the truly beautiful person he is. We will win this, together, and we will wipe each other's tears away for each other. And the victory will be oh so sweet.

It takes more strenght to do what your doing than it is to hide in a book, TV, Computer, etc etc like many Dads do.
Your right the family needs your support now. Its hard sure it is, its hard for moms too. But most of all its hard on the child who has autism...
