Autism is classified as a neurodevelopmental disorder which manifests itself in markedly abnormal social interaction, communication ability, patterns of interests, and patterns of behavior. Although the specific etiology of autism is unknown, many researchers suspect that autism results from genetically mediated vulnerabilities to environmental triggers.
The General Medical Council which regulates all doctors in the UK has slated Dr Wakeman who was the doctor who first linked the MMR vaccine with Autism and Bowel Disorders. He was the doctor who raised the fears over the MMR vaccine and today the GMC has said that it was gross misconduct that he abused his powers as a doctor and caused panic amongst the population resulting in many parents refusing the MMR vaccine.
I just want to thank him for actually doing something which he probably now regrets, that is standing up to the Health Service, the government and to the pharmaceutical companies who just don't care about what their drugs/vaccines can do. Any case will never stand up after all us lowly members of the population never stand a hope in hell again the Government. However he raised the possibility that there was a link and stood up for what he believed.
I work in a residential school for children with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder and have seen the devastation that this disorder can cause. If there is just the remotest chance that it can be caused by the MMR vaccination then I think the vaccine should be discontinued and that the single vaccine several days if not weeks apart should be offered therefore not overloading the children's system.
So many of the children here when you read their reports say they were developing perfectly normally, that they were meeting all their milestones if not ahead of their milestones and then they had the MMR vaccination, their development stopped and even regressed and all the signs of Autism set in.
Yes some of the children here this isn't the case, some are twins or triplets where there was complications at birth which may have triggered it. But surely even if we can just prevent 1 child developing Autism by stopping the MMR vaccination then it's a life saved.
I know when I have my own child, there is no way they will have the MMR. If they develop autism then that is what was planned for them, and I will love them and help them as much as I can. However I will not give them an injection which has a chance to cause it, who would inflict Autism on their child if given the chance. They will be vaccinated against Measles, Mumps and Rubella but I will be paying for the single injections.
I know many children have the MMR without any bad effects, but some children are just more prone or susceptible to it for whatever reason and for these the MMR vaccination is that one thing too much.
Well done Dr Wakeman and thank you for bringing this to everyone's attention and standing up for what you think is right against the Government and pharmaceutical companies.
The 1 million pound that so far has been spent on investigating the complaint against Dr Wakeman and his colleagues should have been spent on providing the single vaccine or put into support for those that have developed Autism.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
So when you go opening your big mouth think a bit because I am really sorry for all of the devastation I have caused. I know I have caused a lot of problems I am really sorry for that. Not vaccination your children is border line child abuse.
To be fare I will say for a second that the MMR has caused Autism. The devastation between deaths caused by Measles, Mumps and Rubella is far higher then caused by Autism.
This is a board to help each other please keep that in mind when you go around saying things like this.
Please learn about Autism. Not for me but for the well being of the children you care for.
I am also not saying that every case of Autism is caused by the MMR vaccination sometimes it can just be a genetic defect or whatever that triggers it off. We have many children here who have not had the MMR but still have Autism.
I was just saying that it isn't fare that the government has decided to go on a witch hunt and pick on Dr Wakeman for what he has said. What he has said does have some credence.
From the posts I have read on here in the past I know there are some people on this board that blame the MMR vaccination for their children's autism and I was just pointing out that Dr Wakeman is being made a scapegoat for the Governments Failings and that the money they have spent going after him could have been a lot better spent in providing either the single vaccination for children OR providing help and support for those parents that are having to cope with Autism in their child.

I applaud your work with kiddos like mine and having worked in the field myself I know what it is like...but back then I really didnt have a clue what was involved or a deep understanding of family histories...so while your information on the new developments but if you dont mind my commenting....the basis of this case was not about a man standing up for what he believed in but about a man with influence attempting to find a link where one didnt exist by perverting and manipulating his study.....almost all of the other doctors involved at any point turned tail and ran long ago there is no reason to think that his results are acceptable if even those who worked with him on it wont put their names on it also.....the GMC I think is absolutly right in chastising someone who manipulates to gain public approval and causes thousands of parents to believe a cause and a probably cure or prevention was available....
As to the million dollars.....people are constantly asking for funds to study the link between autism and vaccines...this should be acceptable to those who believe there is one.....in my opinion the money should have been spent on therapies and struggling families who need financil support for the day to day challenges of Autism....
