changing doctors

Yesterday, I took my son to a different doctor's office. This one was only 4 hours way. He has made good gains under the care of the last doctor, but this new one (which was actually my first choice, but we were on the waiting list for almost a year), I think, more closely follows the biomedical treatments that I've researched and wanted to do from the beginning. From other discussion posts, you can see that I will soon be doing Nystatin (for yeast), methyl-b12 injections, glutathione gel (for detox), etc. I'm also sending a urine sample to that lab in France to do check his porphyrins, and the levels of heavy metals (that I know are there) will determine how aggressively to do chelation. I'm very excited because this new doctor more closely follows the DAN! protocol.


I am also a little saddened to be leaving a doctor who has helped my son up to this point, but I have to do what I've wanted to do from the beginning. I just don't know how to tell this doctor that I'm switching practices. An email, a letter, a phone call. I want to give him the respect he deserves, but I'm just not sure how to do it.

You are a good man. It seems like you like this doctor, so I think a phone call. E-mail is so cold.

Just make shure he knows that you thought he did good work and that you appreciate him and all he did to help you.

It's hard but you have to follow your heart.

I have not had to be in your position, but i think Bobbi is correct - if you have this much admiration for the doctor you are leaving, it would be much more personable if you made a voice contact as opposed to an email. I am sure this doctor will understand, especially if you've been on the waiting list for so long. You do need to follow your heart - i believe that waiting list for certain things are a good thing and also show the ability of some people and it to be very impressive, but sometimes, i get a little concerned if these people, who are so busy that they ahve a waiting list can maintain the "personal" touch - when you become that busy, many time you become a business. I think before you make a final change, you should pray to God and ask his guideance for change - is this the right change for your son, was it one of those things that you were placed on a waiting list and therefore you were led to the doctor he has now - sometimes things happen for a reason - I know you will make the right decision no matter what - you have seemed to provide the best for your son so far and will continue to do so - i think you will find your answer for change in prayer and then in notification it should be by phone call or in person - as this doctor has bonded with your son and has helped your son and your family in so many ways - so the courtesy of a voice explanation would be nice.
