Autism / Autism Spectrum Support Group
Autism is classified as a neurodevelopmental disorder which manifests itself in markedly abnormal social interaction, communication ability, patterns of interests, and patterns of behavior. Although the specific etiology of autism is unknown, many researchers suspect that autism results from genetically mediated vulnerabilities to environmental triggers.
Your child could have been vaccinated even without your knowledge. The hospitals are given Carte blanche, and often newborns are vaccinated, not only without parental consent, but without notification.
We all have very different systems and each of us can carry a different body burden before adverse symptoms show themselves.
However, if you feels yours was a case of "genetic autism" that's fine too. SImply no need to join that particular discussion. No judgement made should you choose not to contribute to that particular topic of the day...
And I think all of us will attest, there are many different environmental triggers out there. But for a number of us, we noticed changes in our children following a very specific timeline, and each individual parent knows their own child the best.
My view I do not care I am ME and I am happy with that. We are different and special yes and your point is.
Live life seize the day.
I think vaccines could cause some but not all of it.
The best explanation is that genetics makes you valunarable to vaccines and that is why some change after. I also think that sometimes you just get autism without any cause, it is just how you are born.
Everyone is entitled to thier opinion stick to it, Im sorry people have shot you down for this,,,
He showed signs before his 1st vaccine at 3 months. Unless his medical records are a lie, he did NOT receive any shots until he was 3 months.
I have not received any negative responses to my belief, except for the occasional troll. For the most part, neither Shot Nazis (vaccinate or go to jail) or the Anti-Shot Nazis (only bad mommies vaccinate) belong to this board.
I respect the right of others to believe that vaccines (either the vaccine itself or an additive) or environmental toxins (general or specific) caused their childs Autism. I am not alone in my belief that the Spectrum is broad enough to accommodate all of us.
That statement is mean and I find that hurtful
PARENTS WHO WANT SOMEONE TO BLAME WITHOUT FIRST LOOKING AT ALL OF THE FACTS
I think we look at the facts
I am so tired of the RUDE messages people from this group have sent to me,
The ONLY time I have had a person send me a rude and out of line hate message it happened to be the author of this original post I am now quoting.
I want to know the facts and the reason I stand on the soapbox so that there will be safe vaccines for kids in the near future. The person who refuses to look at the facts is the author of this post. Denise you can't find that she is bashed,, she is bashing ME!
you don't think that vaccines caused your child's autism fine, but don't come in here and start bashing the ones who do.
EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO their own opinions and it doesn't matter whether you agree or disagree, they have the right to say it..
and melinda, if you are that
unhappy with this group, and this bunch of "close minded parents who think they are medical scientist" no one is forcing you to stay. that's your choice.
We are all entitled to our own opinions and beliefs and none of us have the right to belittle that belief or to criticise it we are all in the same boat here and we are ALL going through the pain and heartache ups and downs. Mothers should stick together not get into petty dissagreements.
I will not address the vaccine debate, but i will address the who to blame debate. there is no one to blame, not a soul, this is a support group and the posts here are usually posts reaching out for support, the only thing i get from this post is rude comments from a person that says she is being bashed for her opinion. the only bashing i see is in the replies to this post. what exactly did you expect from making such a harrsh post to so many people? oh, and you are right, we do stick together here, we have to, this group is the support the majority of us have. if you are here looking for support you could not have found a better place, but if you are here to try and force you opinion on things, this is probably a bad place to be. the fact is, no one knows for sure what causes autism, but we do know that every child is different, my kids and grandkids got the same baccines that adam got, they are not on the spectrum. point is, who the hell knows what causes and i personally do not have time to research it to death because when i do i always get 1000's of different answers. not worth it to me. we had a member here at one time who is now on my ignore list that would bombard us with useless info that she made a point to let us know that we didnt have a clue about our kids. she was bashed and deserved every bit of it. your comment about closed minded parents was extremely rude and i think you owe everyone an apology, as for you not believing vaccines caused your childs autism, i find it hard to believe anyone sent you hate msgs due to the fact that there are sooooo many people on here that know their kids didnt get autism from vaccines...ok...all done!
Although there is a fine line being drawn in this vaccine debate, I think we would all agree on one thing. The damage is done; now what are we going to do to fix or children and give them all the opportunities they deserve?
p.s. I am not close-minded. I have done the research. I have logged countless hours looking at my son's test results and researching what could have caused his autism. I have gone from thinking vaccines (Thimerosal/mercury specifically), alone, caused my son's autism to a "multiple-cause" theory.
