Thanks heart2222. I really appreciate all the very supportive comments from all of you. Even though I did not get what I expected from my ablation procedures, there is a certain comfort in accepting ones situation and moving forward with a new plan. :) I have really gotten alot of good information regarding rate vs rhythm treatment(Thanks Petey) and basically, managing my life with Afib. If I hadnt tried a cure, I would have always been left wondering. I would have had one terrible case of the "what ifs".

I only have good things to say about your posts. I am scheduled to have an ablation later on this year and would only find your experience more informative. So go on and let us have warts and all.
I am wintering in Florida so I can take anything you say. Ha Ha...

I have been just a reader in this group and while it has been very helpful and a great learning experience, I have noticed that some participants have strict opinions about certain topics. Nonetheless, I just skip over these and continue to learn and decide for myself. Mostly, all of the info provided is edifying, and I do a ton of research as well as belonging to other groups. I thank you for all the info you provide as it has been helpful to a newly dx's paroximal AFib person.

Moy- Florida is such a nice place to winter, isnt it? I moved to Florida about 12 years ago after living my entire life in Ohio. I love the climate and enjoy the outside activities that the warm weather permits. Good luck with upcoming ablation later this year and hope you get the results you are seeking.

YippySkippy- Sorry to hear about your newly diagnosed AF. I hope your treatment is going well and you are feeling better each day. After the diagnosis, it takes a while for so much to sink in. I was diagnosed August 2010 and only just recently am I getting comfortable with things. It took me a while to realize that this is something that is just not going to go away and have to take care of it. Actually, since I was diagnosed, I take better care of myself and my health than ever before. I make sure I get plenty of rest, exercise as much as I can tolerate and eat right (most of the time) and drink plenty of water. :)

Tnx for your comments ; it is and has been a challenging time as I need to rearrange my thinking from getting well to managing well; a totally different perspective for me as I am sure it must be for others This group has been a real help in my adjusting as these type of discussions / conversations are not well suited to have with friends.

That is where the block button comes in handy. I've had to use it on one person here, because I talked about my botched ablation and my collapsed lung. I think these things are important to know honestly, but it definitely ruffled a few feathers. There are successful ablations I know, and I hope to be one of them in July when I go to NYC. Meanwhile, please stay, and if anyone gives you grief over everything just block them....I intend to tell the good and the bad of my journey. I took Dec. and Jan. off from Dr. appt's. and I'm seeing a new cardiologist on Monday. I merely want to keep track of things until I go to NYC. I refuse to try any more antiarrhythic meds, because I just can't handle them. You can feel free to whine to me anytime you want..I do my own fair share.

Tomorrows - Thank you so much for your post. I am excited for you and your plans for another ablation in July. Sounds like you have really done your reseach on the NYC doctor and have every reason to be hopeful for the results you are looking for :) Take care and I look forward to learning more of your progress...the good and the bad on your journey.

Yippyskippy- Yes, I know exactly what you mean :) I worry about scaring my friends with conversations about AF and honestly, after my second ablation failed, I didnt have the heart to tell my kids and my family that my results were not what everyone including me was hoping for. I dont want my family and friends to worry too much. Coming here and talking about my feelings in the safe company of others who can relate to AF has helped me tremendously, especially within the last couple of days.

I happen to be the person that tomorrwsdream blocked. I want everyone to know, I have no problem with people posting about bad outcomes. We need to hear the good and the bad to make informed decisions. I object to people passing off their horrible experience as the norm and then telling people who and who would not be good candidates for an ablation. We all need to make our own decisions. I really did feel bad about her expeience.
