There ARE other support groups, but this one is the most personal.

Afibbers.org has one. Yahoo support groups has 4: AHA, afib support, afib cures, and Patrialfib. afib cures surprisingly has many people with failed ablations. afibbers.org is very fact oriented and concentrates on natural and scientic approaches.

This is the only one where you can cry, whine, and laugh.

Clane, I hope you stay around, we are a well rounded group. You can whine and rant all you want to. We will always care about you. You are one of us.

And Petey will make you laugh no matter what mood you are in.

Petey- Perhaps more correctly I should have said "quieted my fingers/keys" rather than zipping my lips :) I really enjoy you all and want to remain a part of the group but would also like to find a place(in addition to this group) where I can speak opening about my experience without making anyone feel uncomfortable and worried. Especially those considering ablations. I am still a major supporter of ablation, just no more for me. I took my two chances and that is all I told myself I would take and I feel good about my decision. My comments regarding my experience are never mean to sway anyone away from ablation, moreover, just me talking about my experience and offering a name and a face to the statistics. Thanks Missd- I appreciate your post. This is a great group but thought I should reserve comments about my experiences because I dont like the thought of making anyone nervous or question their decisions but would be nice to vent about my own experiences just to get it out. I am a positive person but sometimes need to vent my frustration..I feel like I am the failure- instead of the ablations failing me sometimes. :)

Katrek- not sure what you were referring to about "amen" but the type of person I am assumes the best in people and takes all comments in a good nature. Take care and I promise no more talk about my experiences. The only way to move pass unpleasant memories is to move forward so no more of the past from me...only future and only positive things...to that you can yell out a big "Amen"! :)

My Precious fellow Floridian, We like the sunny days down here and don't care for friction. But, Dear one, your experience, strength and Hopes are a part of who "We" are, you and all of us Matter. I have been a bit hurt by anothers comments, and I had several of my threads ignored or corrected...I lick my fur and get over it, and it is Aways soon forgotten. Live and let live, forgive and forget..etc. That's the way I see it, I hope you will join me and keep coming back and be free to Be and express YOU. This Afib is a Group Project!

Please stay and write freely. That is what this is all about. I personally enjoy your posts and missed you while you were away and would miss you if you if you left again.

By amen I meant that for Petey not anything you said, I am all for anyone saying how they feel. I've done it often enough here myself. We all care and I appreciate the experiences everyone has been through, especially since I will probably need another one myself.

Meant to add Petey always makes me laugh even when I am really down and anxious.

We also need to hear the truth. I thought my post about Collateral Damage was worse than anything you posted.

As someone who will be getting an ablation in just a few weeks (March 7th) I want to hear both the good and the bad experiences people have had with their ablations. Your venting will in no way sway my decision, but it will give me a more realistic view on what I can expect. Please stay here and feel free to post whatever you need to get the support you need from all of us. And know that sharing your experience, both the good and the bad, is very helpful for all of us.

CLane, Even if you find another group, we all benefit from both sides. I too have had 2 ablations, the first one not successful, left me battered and sore and took a good couple of weeks before I felt human. The second one went better, but if it didn't I probably would not try again.

When I first joined I was just getting over the first ablation, and believe me I whined a lot - but I got a lot of encouragement and "love". I have learned so much from this site, I wish I had discovered it when I was first diagnosed over 3 years ago. There were so many questions I had, it would have been good to get the different perspectives.

If you do join another group, make it in addition to this one and stay in touch. When you join our club, you become our on-line family.

Hello Yogacat, my fellow Floridian- Your post brought such a smile to my face and tears to my eyes at the same time. Thank you for your words as they reminded me that we are all kindred spirits. RN/Janet-you are a wonderful person and I appreciate your kindness you have always shown to me. Your experiences, your honesty and your knowledge are always an inspiration. Katyreck- I agree with you and appreciate your comment. I love Peteys comments as they are fun, informative and light hearted. Petey's comments remind me each day to take care of myself and continue to educate myself on Afib but to not take this whole Afib thing too seriously. Petey- There are few people we cross paths with in life that make an impact- you are one of those people to so many of us. Your enthusiasm, excellent research skills, knowledge of topic and great sense of humor make visiting this group not only informative but down right fun :)

Twinsisters- Thanks for your post. I, too, wish I had discovered this site. I didnt find it until I had already had two ablations and being a part of this group would have been a great resource when I was diagnosed. I like being part of the on-line family makes this a great group.

Denikae - I wish you good luck with your ablation on 3/7. You have every reason to expect good results :)
