With Pradaxa.

I take magnesium calm and Taurine and I take Pradaxa and Tikosyn. Have less violent episodes of Afib since adding Taurine.

I was on Pradaxa and Tikosyn. Tikosyn didn't work for me. Very few side effects though. I had side effects with all the other antiarrhythmics. I was never on Cartia.

Any questions about Tikosyn specifically?

My heart always feels like it is pounding all of the time. I have had some breakrhus witht eh tikosyn, was wonder if any one was taking supplements, and what kind and what the dosage was.

Daisy, I also have breakthroughs with the Tikosyn. I take about 400 mg Magnesium, 500 mg of Taurine and I drink a glass of V-8, eat a banana every day and sometimes an orange to get extra potassium besides eating a healthy diet with potassium each day. You are successfully treated with Tikosyn if you aren't in Afib all the time. Some days might be worse than others, so you must try to figure out your triggers. And try to relax--practice taking slow deep rhythmic breaths. And take some nice quiet walks.

queenjuju thanks for the info, I take magnesium and drink a juice with potassium, I also eat tomatoes, berries and spring salad every day. I just wondered if adding a potassium supplement would help. I also take a b complex and fish oil. I have heard about the taurine and have considered it, it is so hard to see what can conflict with the tikosyn, another scary drug you have to be on top of/

Daisy, I have less Afib since I started the Taurine. It took about a week before I noticed the difference. I still get frequent bouts of Afib, but not as high rate or for as long.

Yes, I dread the fall/winter because if I get allergies or bronchitis I don't know what I can take OTC for it. Many drugs interfere with Tikosyn and Pradaxa. Good luck with it all.

I have been on Tikosyn (500mcg 2XD) for two months. After third treatment (pill) I converted. But two days later was out. Also metoprolol (50mg) and xarelto (20mg) daily.
Saw doctor today. I was in rhythm today, Pulse was 50. He wasn't concerned, BP is good.
I go in and out of rhythm but feel pretty good. Stress test before start of Tikosyn was "normal".
Doctor said next step was ablation but we are going to stay put for 6 months and see what happens. My cousin had ablation and it didn't help him.
Seems like not too many people on tikosyn.

I take potassium supplements with tikosyn. Since being on tikosyn I hardly ever have afib and if I do it doesnt last more than a few minutes. The longest was 10 minutes. Potassium has to level 4 while on tikosyn. Mine is 3.9 I think. I also take warfarin and have a pacemaker.
