Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

I had my ablation last Thur. and I felt like a truck had run over me when it was over with. I was flat on my back from the minute I checked in till after the ablation and 12 hr. is what the Dr. wanted afterwards. I watched the monitor near my bed, and was so happy it was perfect sinus rhythm. I don't know if it will stay, but I feel pretty good about this. I had A-Flutter and A-Fib done, so I had 3 sheaths that needed to come out the next day...OK that hurt...that really hurt having them taken out, but so far it has been worth it. The dizziness is gone. I will get an event monitor in 10 days to wear for awhile to see what is hapenning.

I'm only on the Lopressor. I can't do the antiarrhythmics, but this Dr. likes beta blockers in lots of cases.

Please say a prayer I stay in sinus rhythm.

Congratulations.
I felt that the same truck ran over me too, and the pressure from the sheaths was very painful. It was very short lived as I felt good, and of course glad it was over.
Your response is ten times better than the last time you had an ablation.
I will pray that you stay in sinus rhythm. You deserve it.
