Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
Hope it will be good one for everyone-a-fib free or at least
Controlled. I noticed a couple of you talking about flutter, what does this feel like? Anything like the a-fib? I get a few funny feelings at times but it isn't a- fib. Get a few skipped beats too but not often, maiinly when stressed. Fairly new to a-fib(since March 2012). One more in Sept. I was on Diltiazem and Warfarin then was doing well so an aspirin instead of Warfarin. Now on Sotalol 80mg twice daily and back on Warfarin. Sotalol made me tired at first but not like the Diltiazem did. I see most people either take Flecainide or Sotalol - wonder how Cardiologists choose? Thanks for listening - not used to being sick!!!!! Hugs, Christine
Thanks for ur reply. What is the difference between a flutter and A - Fib? Did u have underlying heart problems before the a - fib? I have. To have another ekg in April to make sure that I don't have the Q - waves - I don't have any heart disease - all tests normal. How are u doing now? What meds do: U take! Hope u stay well. GOD bless and hugs, Christine
