Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
Hopefully I can be drug free, every single day I try not to panic with the thought. I sometimes have to work hard to shift my panic thoughts to something else.
So many side effects.

I Iust read the article. I did not know about cinnamon and turmeric. But my INR has been going down, I have had unforsted cinnamon rolls but no turmeric that I knew of. I have wanted to do the rice dish I lie with turmeric but have not.
I do take Vit E and Ibuprofen. Dr gave me a choice of OTC things and I picked the Ibuprofen as bothered me maybe less. He let me set what to take. I presume if I had set too much he would have changed it. It was on my list I take when the warfarin was set up. I have been on all most two year now. I have gone from 3 to 1.9 in a couple months. Yes, I have arthritis and have had and I took aspirin and he cut out all aspirin. I only take things he has okayed. Ibuprofen on my list of what I take is marked it make warfarin work better and bilberry, eyebright, Glucosamine, niacin, Vit E, says these things could increase it, I take every day. It is factored in.
I have had to eat out twice this week. I ate plain bacon, cheese hamburger and drank water. It was large enough to fill me up. I did not eat any of the fries as do not know what oil cooked in. Late afternoon was not hot had a vanilla shake, And my heart was trying to beat too fast that evening. Yesterday I had oven grilled fish and mashed potatoes. I did not eat a biscuit and drank water. Late in afternoon little icecream on stick. Icecream was my sugar for the day. No problerms last night.
Day before yesterday I had been to the eye docter, Okay there and teh eye drops they use dilated in 15 mins. I have never had them do it fast. Yes, I thing it was tryig to give me a headache. They had me in and out pretty fast. Faster than ever before.
This morning sick head of some kind. So I drank plenty of liquid and seems to go away, I wasa told I had to drink in hot weather plenty or be sick and think te metoprolol woudl do it. It did not seems to low blood pressure feeling. Mine is on low side. Flares when I get upset. Yeah, on the trips I try not to drink much liquids, That bus takes 2 hours to get from here to city.
After I fell I quit making cinnamon so could count for it dropping? As was going up. Stress in moving here this year. Kids hit me with a bunch of things yesterday which is caused me more stress. The kids have fixed it now that I can not get moved on in here, I do not plan to rent storage unit to put things as a could not get to it with out a car to use. So I am back to crying.
I had already determined I was experiencing afib due to Advil use but a search for more information brought me back to dailystrength.
Here is a little background, I am on Warfarin (about 10 years now) so I knew I should not be taking NSAIDs, but I am trying to get though some heal and joint pain and Tylenol was not really helping me much, I started supplementing my pain management with relatively small amounts of Advil from time to time hoping the anti-inflammatory aspects would help the healing process. I was keeping the dose very low knowing the risk involved and my INR stayed in range.
Before I started taking the Advil I had noticed I was starting to experience PVCs but since I was already on a blood thinner my GP was not overly concerned. At some point after starting to take Advil I had my first A-fib episode (although I did not know that was what it was at the time). Again my Dr. was not concerned. 20 days later after the second A-fib episode he gave me a requisition for an ECG, but because I was not experiencing A-fib at the time and the test is so short I did not find anything including a PVC.
I decided to upgrade my Apple Watch v1 to a Version 5 and a few days later I was able to confirm A-fib.
It was after the 3rd. episode I started look back to see what might be triggering the A-fib. on a hunch I stopped using the Advil and waited. Each of the previous episodes were almost exactly 20 days apart, but since stopping Advil I have now gone almost 40 days without an episode, I still have the PVCs, but as long as I stay hydrated they don't seem to be to concerning.
My fingers are still crossed...
