Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

Props to Paul60 for dialing in on his recent experiences. Kind of throws a wrench into the AFIB 101 booklet. I'm not sure what benefits aspirin has at all other than maybe helping with a headache.
I still take one each day. But Pauls' story is a scary one and I'm glad he made it thru the gig as well as he did.
Paul, is there/do you have any family history regarding stroke or heart attacks?

The most significant history thing would probably be that I had a DVT in my leg about 6-7 years ago. It broke up into multiple clots in my lungs. I spent 5 days in the hospital on IV heparin, then six months on Coumadin. However, the doctors are rather sure that my stroke came from the AFIB. A new leg clot would have gone to the lungs.
I saw a video on stopafib.org by a doctor discussing aspirin and anticoagulants. His position was that aspirin might do more harm than good. It's an excellent video, if you have time watch the whole thing. . The comments on aspirin begin about minute 29:00.
