Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
I was taken off diltiazem a couple of days prior to my ablation and after the ablation was told I did not need it. The diltiazem gave me fatigue and 1st degree heart block so now I feel great.

What did your EP say? Cardiovert and then straight to pacemaker no try for a second ablation, was the first one that obvious? My EP said that there was ALWAYS a way. Citing that if multiple ablations didnt work the last way would be to ablate the AV-node (which would stop all electrical paths to the ventricles) and put in a pacemaker to take over the timing. This would not stop the a-fib but would stop the crazy beating rhythms in the ventricles which would lead to a stable blood flow which should certainly make you feel better.
You are in my thoughts and prayers. And crying and venting does help otherwise you might end up with ulcers on top of the a-fib! So let it loose!
Take care,

Thanks to all our veterans for there service
What is the difference between the shocks during the ablation and the cardioversion? Does Dr. Sun think it will work on Tuesday?
I hope you are not in any pain, take it easy, try to enjoy the day.
