Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
"I guess by now we all know that the ultimate solution is an ablation with doc Natalie. "
Scott: Who is Natalie? I have a female EP too. I haven't gotten my nerve up enough to call her by her first name yet though. I have an appointment on December 30th. Here's what I'm thinking of saying. Let me know if you think it will work. " I've been seeing you for almost 4 years now. I've never missed or been late for an appointment. When you were out to have your baby and another doctor was available, I waited months for you to come back. I even asked you your baby's name. I was thinking that maybe, and I'm thinking out loud, so I may be wrong... but do you think possibly maybe I can start calling you by your first name? Please don't get angry or think I'm being too forward. What? Yes? I can? That is so wonderful! What is the first name I can call you by? Doctor? Doctor is your first name? Oh thank you so much Doctor! I feel so much closer now. Doctor." (sigh)
OK. I know you meant Natale.
Regarding triggers. I think we overdo thinking about every trigger and I do think the comment is that it gives us some feeling of control to focus on triggers. But, I don't know, I think we should live our lives and not overthink it. Nuts don't cause afib. Anything might trigger it once you have it. But maybe it's just that nuts are hard to digest. Are we that fragile we have to worry about whether or not to put mustard on our sandwiches?
So anyway, I noticed that when I make a left turn with my car, I become aware of my heartbeat. Solution? I make three right turns. And I wind up where I wanted to be... the Bentonite Store. Ha!

For me the" whatever" is just an irregular HB (60-90), dehydration, and fatigue that is minimally affecting my quality of life which I can live with.
The "whenever" of episodes seems to be between 9-12 days. 2-3X/mo.
Episodes have become less symptomatic but longer in duration before I self convert. I'll try to be extra vigilant re: alcohol and late night snacks days 9-12 to see if that makes a difference.
Day 7. Tonight is our condo's Holiday Party. Imbibing the bubbly + I'll have a chance to validate my Time Theory.
