Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
starting as a small child, I used to worry about things like "gravity" and the enormity of the universe... I used to contemplate "infinity". I had to put a box around forever/infinity and it drove me nuts. It got me nowhere worrying about it. Then I heard the moon is moving away from the earth by 1 inch every year. Oh man!
You are only having an ablation... a routine procedure done every day by your EP. I will be stuck out here worrying about gravity and the moon moving way from the earth. :-) When your ablation is done, you will stop worrying. I'll still be worried about gravity and the moon. LOL :-)

Thank you EVERYONE for your encouraging thoughts. I REALLY do appreciate them. Lots of you have been there and know what it's like, so I need to heed your words.
Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!
I have a mom with dementia who I am the main caregiver for. She's in a nursing home. I didn't tell her anything about all my a fib problems, she has chronic a fib. I'm not sure how I will tell her why I won't be accessible for awhile, and laid up afterwards.Even when i"m out of town, I try to call her my usual times so she doesn't panic. This time, obviously , I cannot. I usually visit her frequently and call 3-4 times/day. That will surely change. Not sure what is the best way to handle it with the least impact of worrying to her. I'll just mention I'm taking a little vacation. (What a vacation, am I right?!!!)
I guess I better go pack...
Good wishes and best of luck sent your way.
