Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
I lift weight too and I have no problem. Also, I do a lot of cardio with no problem either. If I don't have time to drive to the gym, I do cardio at home by doing lots of jumping jacks to get my heart rate up and then do the weights, push ups, and squats at home. Just watch your electrolytes, keep hydrated during any workout at home or at the gym.
Also, you don't have to be reincarnated to be petey's neighbor later. I am sure petey is willing to give a fellow afibber his address so you can move next to him now :-) Now, how is that for a good suggestion? LOL Don't put things off, now is the time to do them!
You are very smart in getting back to lifting again. It is a MUST.

You're a real wise guy Scott!!! :-)
yetep (again) hahahaha!!!!!
Hehehehehehehehe, you are funny, sorry, ouch. Now, I have to deal with the wrath of "Surfrat" for making you to go undercover again, LOL. Oh, no, not very cool, Okay, I guess Ray has to wait until he comes back again, that is if he has been good and he does not end up going to ...... whatever, hehehehehehehehehehe
ttocs (gone undercover to avoid Surfrat wrath, LOL)
It is funny, I can't do what you are saying, to breath in when lifting and breath out when lowering the weight. For me, the oppisite is natural and works. I know all the trainers say the same thing that you say, but, I just feel very uncomfortable and un-natural to do that, very odd, correct?
I must be from Mars, I get afib from omega 3 fatty acid, nuts, butter, kale, arugula, and oranges, and this exercise breathing method is another one. Wow! Who am I? A Martian?? LOL
I bet, now people really want to see my picture :-)

Answer: 5. 1 to twist the lightbulb and 4 to go "c'mon 1 more, you can do it, c'mon 1 more!"

Like anything you do (especially if you're my age), ease into it. That's the hardest lesson, a fib or not...Taking things slow and listening to your body.
Best of luck with the weights. And remember, lift with your legs!!
