Yes go see your two Pisans, I met Luigi and Natale at a Monterfiore afib seminar for EP's and Cardiologists I attended last year at the Risk-Carlton in Weschester, Luigi DiBlasi was the sponsor and Natale few all the way in from Texas to give a 10 min presentation. He was nice enough to spend some time talking to us before the seminar started.
Luigi is Natale's protege and considers Natale a father figure and has been mentoring and teaching him for years at Texas Arrhythmia Center.

I know it was dumb, wit all youse Italians on this site, but I just couldn't believe pisans was spelled without a y, so I had to check (paysans en francais) . And sorry, I DID laugh when I heard the second Italian EP is named Luigi....oh yeah, I listened to Frank Sinatra's 99th birthday celebration yesterday on Sirius, and I just had to laugh...it was held at...oh poop, senior moment, some famous Italian restaurant in NYC..and the accents of all his friends! Let's just say I am sure that ALL the guests on that show knew how to spell pisan! Well, except maybe Donnie Osmond, who had a great Sinatra story as well, about his Dad's interaction with Sinatra. Seems that Donnie was opening for Nancy at Caesar's Palace. And Sinatra comes in with his "boys." Well, they are all MFing this and MFing that, and George Osmond goes up to Sinatra and says "Hey, my son is 9 years old! You need to control your entourage, it is a disgrace!" So the next day one of da boys approaches Mr. Osmond back stage, and the dude is like 6 feel tall and just as wide..everyone is scared to death..and the guys says "Mistuh Sinatra wants you to have dis" and hands him an envelope. In the envelope is a note from the Chairman of the Board saying "I am SO sorry that I allowed my guys to curse in front of your son. I sincerely apologize." And enclosed were 10 $100 bills. Donnie's Dad was broke at the time, having what, 6 kids? 8 kids? Takes the grand and throws the note in the trash...a personal note from Frank Sinatra, in the trash. Donnie was saying he was certain that this note today would have been worth much more than the $1000 gift.

Whenever I go to a new Southern Italian restaurant, I order eggplant parmigiana. It tells me a lot about the restaurant. How thick the eggplant is. The size/type of eggplant. how old (bitter) it is whether or not it is overcooked. Or mushy. I personally like the skin off as When it is sliced thin, not bitter, and just the right browness, with tomatoes that are the proper acidity, and of course, quality cheese, it tell you how the rest of the menu will be.

So where is Natale from in Italy? My family is from Bellosguardo (Salerno).

I found and old Medscape article with this "Natale was born in Siracusa". Siracusa is Italian for Syracuse, which is in Eastern Sicily. Home of Archimedes (at the time of Archimedes eastern Sicily was part of Magna Graecia (Latin, Great Greece). I've been to Siracusa. The Roman arenas were concerted from the Greek theaters. So much for todays history lesson.

I'd still like to know how McHale knows Natale's schedule.

Paul so sorry to hear that you aren't doing well. I know it is very discouraging when you think things are getting better and then to have a relapse (incidents). I am going through somewhat the same. I went 14 months with an episode (just a few skipped beats.) Then a month ago I had a bad attack and ended up in the e.r. then icu for almost a week. It is very upsetting and confusing to me. They took me off sotaloll, had some longer QT intervals. Tried drips and boluses of metroprolol, diltiazem, digoxin, etc. I did better though the night and the next a.m. they gave my a bunch of pills and was still on the diltiazem drip. I told then two of the medicines were for the same thing - anyhow about 45 mins later they all came rushing into my room and called a "rapid response" and rushed me up to ICU with a crash cart - mjy heart almost stopped and B.P. dropped so low. They pumped me with dopamine and throughout the day things stabilized somewhat. I went from a-fib to a- flutter. They kept called it a pharmaceutical mishap!!! Now they are saying that I may have tachycardia/bracycardia sydrome. I don't have a echo until 1/28/15. still on Warfardin and they added carvedilol for rate control. He gave me flec. as PIP but have never taken it and am scared. These things always seem to happen on a Sunday. Anyhow, I was o.k. this early a.m. and then went into a-fib or a-flutter. Heart rate not too high about 104 last time I checked. Don't want to go back to the E.R. I may take 1/2 of Flec. to see how it agrees with me.
I do hope you can get your ablation, or failed ablation taken care of. My thoughts and prayers are with youl I now have an E.P. Cardiologist and my primary care Dr. I had such a bad experience in the hospital and they are looking into it to determine exactrly what happened.

I had a problem with bystolic lowering my pulse and blood pressure. It triggered an afib episode with sick sinus syndrome (tachycardia/bracycardia). My EP thinks that now that I'm off all beta blockers I won't have any more problems. All these meds can help but sometimes they can cause real problems.

Thank u Chubbabubba for your input. I am not on Hydrology. But am. On Corey (carvediol). It has. Been doing good for. My doctors put me on it in hospital. My h.r is still fast and irregular.I did have all the
Conditions you had. They gave me too many Beta Blockers. I sm not on antiarrymics any more. What do u take?

I was on several beta blockers but they made me extremely tired to the point I could barely function. My EP eventually changed me to Bystolic and I was on that for about a year and a half. It kept my pulse rate at around 60.

All of a sudden my rate dropped down to the high 30's and that's when I had another afib episode with sick sinus syndrome. I'm no longer able to take any beta blocker. I'm sorry it didn't work because when I first started taking it, I felt good.

I'm now on a new class of drug called a renin inhibitor and so far it's working.

Today I saw my Cardio Electro Physiologist, otherwise known as my heart electrician. This is the woman who operated on my heart last April. Since I had a monitor implanted in my chest in August, she had lots of data to work with. She said I was doing very well. She said prior to the surgery I was in AFIB most of the time. Now Im in AFIB about 13% of the time which is better than can be expected. She will continue to monitor to insure that it doesnt deteriorate (which is not expected). Since my heart is on the slow side (athletic heart), she discontinued my occasional beta blocker. She said my occasional episodes will terminate by themselves, the beta blocker was not helping. All in all this was an excellent hearth status report. No further drugs or treatment at this time.

Guess I'm doing better than I thought.
