Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
I'm happy for you, hope you feel better every day. Take care. Joan
Rick-i was hoping you would comment on how long this chest pain lasts. It really is something. Hard to sleep with it.
Vinny-Motrin is for the antiinflammatory aspects. If it doesn't work, he will put me on steroids. That will increase my sugar though (I'm prediabetic) so I hope the Motrin does the trick. I was nervous since my PCP said absolutely NO to Motrin and Pradaxa, but gotta listen to the EP, right?
So exhausted, will close now. Thanks again for all of your advice and support. It really helps to know beforehand. I thought of Rick with the temp and the chest pain.
Isn't it a weird procedure?!
Hoping the chest pain and soreness ease soon.
I remember when the nurse finally started cranking up my bed.
She when oh so slowly, and I felt about 100 years old.
Thanks for writing candidly about your experiences.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.

I gotta say the lying still til that 20th hour was tough for me. I had my ipod all loaded up with books on tape like Joan suggested, but I was just so exhausted to do anything. The time just dragged. The challenging part was they gave me a turkey sandwich for dinner-to eat lying down. Also all my meds for the night, including the potassium horse pills to take lying down!! What we do to keep from bleeding out! LOL!!
For those waiting to have an ablation and have questions, I'll be glad to answer them. Will need to rest first though.
Again, thanks for all the encouragement. For the newbies, the encouragement on this forum is invaluable!! THANKS!!
How is your high BP and abnormal rhythm?
How are your recuperations going?
Still very tired. From what you all said, that just takes time to get over that.
Glad you're feeling better now. You should keep improving.

Glad to hear you are better. I know what you mean about the fatigue. Even just sitting upright makes me very tired. have to be horizontal. I'm still having problems sleeping, although very tired.
