Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

The EP I will be seeing is Ivan T Cakulev. He practices out of University Hospital in Cleveland. I live in a rural County outside of Cleveland. I did some research and read patient reviews on him in google, and I liked what I read. Just waiting to get stress test and echo next week.
Oh great, heart is starting to flip around as I write this. That just goes to show you how nervous I get. lol
Will keep yas posted. Thanks again to all.

I was diagnosed in Feb 2014 at a routine physical. I had just done a spin workout and had no idea I was in AFIB. Went through a bunch of tests before cardioversion and it led to a 90% blocked LAD. I had a stent put in and believe it or not, feel like it was a blessing as the alternative could have been much worse. They tried cardioversion without medicine and I felt good for two weeks. They are going to try again and put me on Multaq. An ablation maybe on the horizon?? I am 49, exercise at least 6 days a week, 5-11 in height and I weigh 185lbs. Hang in there cause you are not alone! This is my very first post!
I was in afib all night, went out this morning and cut the grass.....Poof, gone. We're going to have the best lawn in the neighborhood. :)
