Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

Well, I want to thank everyone who sent hugs and well, basically made not want to kill myself. I was just so sick of it all and I couldn't see a way out.
My husband had to fight multiple times with the health and welfare of his union, fight with united healthcare/pacificare etc. We have already paid out for two months, yet I was told that our insurance was expired. Well, my husband finally talked to a supervisor, let her have it somewhat, although I probably would have reacted a bit stronger, but, well, he thinks I'm faking everything, so he didn't feel the imperativeness that I have had since Thanksgiving. That's how long I've had this, with no dr.
I finally then had to pour through a book of doctors, clinics etc. and try to pick one. Really? How about just closing my eyes and pointing to one. I picked the hospital/doctor that seemed to have more cardiologists on staff with also good reviews etc. So, then I made my appt. and of course, the dr. was gone. The good news, I like the dr. I went to. Plus, she was the same dr. that treated my ripped off rib cartledge. I like rib injuries, not, from boogie boarding, surfing, crib railings etc.
Anyway, she spent an hour with me, an hour. She was gentle and kind. She had me go over everything from start to finish. I had to go back the next day for a fasting blood draw. Well, that's where it gets weird. I got a call, and my chlorestral was a tad high, she doesn't want to treat it, she wants me to exercise. I told her I haven't exercised since Thanksgiving day since I'm afraid to. But the real odd thing is my vitamin D was at an extremely low level. It's like a 12 when it should be somewhere between 30 and 100. So, I'm now taking starting today 5,000 IU of vitamin D3. I go back to see her on Monday and she's going to refer me then to a cardiologist. So, I'm scared to death of this, but on the other hand, I feel like finally something is progressing.
By the way, I was so nervous about the first appt. but no one would go with me. My husband actually took off, he is in Sacramento area, I'm in north san diego county. So, he doesn't even know about what I went through since he didn't bother to ask so I didn't volunteer it. Yeah, I'm a jerk, but why give info to someone who doesn't seem to care.
So, I tried to update you all the other night but for some reason this website was not letting me.
I'll fill you in on more info when I get it. You all are so nice I wish one of you lived here.
I went to fill my prescription today and of course, I'm not in their computers yet, so had to pay cash for it. They said to come back and they'd refund me. That darn insurance company. They had no problem cashing my check for two months, in which I could not go to a dr. My husband said we will probably never get the money back, despite the fact that it was their fault. I don't understand how these companies can get away with this.
Anyway, just wanted to let you all know that the gun is still put away, and I am still here and trying to be positive. I told them that I was sorry for being a pain in the ass, but it's not like I wanted to be sick. I still cook and clean for them. Except on the days when I feel really bad, then it's all I can do to get food into my own mouth. It wouldn't occur to them to possibly take a turn.
Okay, I'm complaining, thanks for listening to me.
Thank you again to all
