Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

For those of you on aspirin.. how much did your doctor recommend you take a day?

Hi Island: My doctor advised me to take 325mgs, one full regular aspirin once a day.

yes, me too. When I was prescribed Aspirin, it was a coated 325 once a day....or I could take 2 baby aspirin,(81) 2x a day. THEN the dr. decided since I am OLDER and a Woman, I needed more storke protection and I was prescribed "something" else.

I'm not sure aspirin will give you stork protection... I think they have other pills for that... :-) just looking out for you.

doc took me off of warfarin and I am on one full aspirin a day
I do cheat a bit and sometimes take two baby aspirins (81mg) because I am on one kidney and aspirins are not that kidney friendly
