Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
I start most of my episodes at 2-4 AM. I generally convert around noon.
I was more concerend about the39 than the 142 but EP says 39 is fine since I am a runner (pre afib HR 51) and dilitiazem lowers it

All the best to you from a fellow sufferer
I convert on my own. My AF episodes usually start between 2-4 AM and last between 8 - 24hrs. Triggers alcohol and eating late after ushering. My HR rate ranges between 65-95. My normal rate is in the 40's and 50's. Maybe age has something to do with it. I'm definitely not athletic. Diagnosis - asymptomatic bradycardia. I take Warfarin and Vitamin D. That's it! I consider myself as one of the more fortunate with AF.

A-fib used to only happen during exercise, so now I only walk for exercise. I suspect my a-fib will progress. Currently on Rythmol SR (2x225mg) and use both metoprolol (12.5mg) and/or Klonopin (0.5mg) as needed. I will likely ask to have Rythmol dose increased; it is clearly not helping me get back to jogging or preventing postprandial bouts of a-fib.
Sleep well!

Some water pills (loop and thiazide kind) may present afib danger if they lead to a low level of blood potassium. If you take a water pill and your potassium level is ok, then you should not worry about interaction of water pills and afib.
