So happy for your:) Hope this is your last one and you stay in NSR and feel good. You sound to be doing great, or keep up the exercise, just don't overdo!!!!!

As usual, thanks for the info..yup, that would figure. I was always so proud of the fact that my pulse was 58..now it turns out that was a sign something was wrong...same deal with my awesome cholesterol number of 161. You posted a while back that this is TOO low, and men with that number can be prone to depression. Sigh.....I read this site for all the great info, but sometimes it isn't good news! Gotta take the good with the bad, I guess! But now I won't stress about the days when the HR is in the mid to high 70s...just means the electrical system is working properly!

Hey Jog, great to hear things are well and you are running again. Sounds like you are having the blanking period fun like I had..I also had the thump thump stuff to when laying down but don't feel that anymore. My pulse rate was high after the ablation, but as my running increased, my rate dropped in dropped. Right now, hanging in the 50s. And YES enjoy that new lease on life. Ablation is a risk reward thing. You take a risk doing it and it is great when it works. Will be good to hear more as you continue your recovery!

WldLuv2Jog, glad you are doing so well, how are you sleeping now you are off the Xarelto? No more nightmares and insomnia?

I"m commenting a little late on your thread. But after my ablation, my heart rate was in the 100's resting. I was told after 18 mos, it would go back to normal. It has been over 2 years and my HR is sill lower 100's resting. When I exercise, it goes up to 115 easily. I do notice that after exercising, it comes down a lot faster than it used to. My cardio doesn't seem alarmed with it.

I think higher HR is a side effect of all the buring. Like I said , I was told it too 18 mos to get back to normal.

Daisy ... I am sleeping a whole lot better, nightmares are fewer , now that you mention it (how could I forget?) But I am nowhere near back to "lay down, fall asleep in 20 minutes, wake up eight hours later with the alarm clock" that I was 15 years ago. Still babying myself with Ambien a lot.

I jogged yesterday, 80 overcast day, with some moderate hills, did not even wear my heart watch apparatus. I KNEW my heart was responding normally.

I went jogging today on the trail and heart felt good but, Murphy's Law, my knee is giving me trouble after the run. DURING the run the knee does not bother me. But afterwards ... sore ... not limping but ALMOST. So I think I am going to turn into an every other day or every third day runner. Not bad ... I am just glad I am running without going into flutter. But maybe I need to go over to the "knee trouble" support group and login.

Hey Jog, I just got over tendonitis of the left ankle caused by long run in a backup pair of running shoes...Had to take 2.5 weeks off but back on the trail/road now ! But this knee/ankle stuff is a good problem to have - the afib isn't preventing us from self inflicted running injuries.

WldLuv2Jog: I enjoy reading posts by afib people who can run, not just walk. I cut back considerably. Just do 2-6 miles a day at a slow jog or fast walk. I'm a 5K type of guy. So anyway, my son is built for long distance, but has been doing great with the 100/400/800/1200/1500 meters. He set a school record (in 6th grade for all grades to 8th) in the 1500. I posted a picture of his latest wins in AAU as he is on a Track Club that had many 1st place victories in the 2013 Junior Olympic Nationals out West. He recently won the 100 and 800 meters (picture I posted) against another team that had many winners in the nationals and some independents who were really fast. He just turned 12. Since they think he will have a future in running, we are having an EKG done on him and some tests. My daughter also ran. Came in 3rd in her 100 and put her team in the winning column in the 4X100 relay. She ran anchor and blew by 3 other runners. My wife ran half marathons. We used to jog together. Like I said in other posts, when I ran on teams, it was 5Ks. I like the slow pace and more miles now. It makes me feel good. I wish I could still beat my son, but the Bystolic acts like a governor on a car. Frustrating as I love to sprint. petey
