Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
I was started on this drug at home (no hospital monitoring) and this was quite scary since I knew what it could do, and that it was in the Black Box category!
Cardio changed it to Rythmol and that was no good either, giving me almost every side effect it had! It controlled the AFib but I could barely function.
I quit the antiarrythmia drugs 11 months ago now and have been managing well on more natural supplements like high dose Vit C, high magnesium, Ribose etc, and a low dose Diltiazem and have had no real AFib episodes, just the occasional PAC.
These drugs can be hell for some of us folks!
