Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
About your bad night:( I hope you will sleep better tonight, please try not to be so scared - know that is easier said than done. Was your heart beating fast and erratic? When I have had bad attacks of A-Fib (the two times), get mini bouts, but I get high B.P. when I am stressed - haven't done my Resperate in several days with all the moving -packing, movers putting furniture into storage until we have it taken to Fl. Then we had two days of an Estate Sale and now hardly have anything to use, may have to go to a Hotel for a couple of days. I just haven't felt good today, been very tired and now extremely high b.p. My Sotalol is supposed to help some with this. I, like you get scared when I feel weird and then I get some skipped h.b. and pauses. Haven't had a fast heart beat since my
last bad attack. What do they do for you at the E.R.? Did they put you on Diltiazem drip? It doesn't work for me. The worst for me is the fast h.r. and high b.p. Of course, the erratic heart beat is scary, too. Do hope you are back in NSR ? Do hope it passed quickly. Take some deep breaths, that does help me. I really feel sad for you and do hope you will get some answers on Wednesday.
Are you able to drink plenty of water to stay well hydrated? Sometimes walking around will calm one down. Sweet lady, please let me know how you are doing? Do you have anyone to talk with or are you by yourself. My husband doesn't understand it, "!
and just says, "relax." Unless you have it, people don't understand how you feel and how scary it can be.!
I leave on Wednesday for Florida, such a big change, new Drs. etc.
My husband isn't coming until Saturday.
I will definitely keep you in my prayers and especially tonight and pray you have a peaceful night.
God bless you,
Hugs,
Christine
now, when I am in Afib my numbers are all over the place to. I have a bloodpressure monitor that also shows when i am in Afib , so I check frequently and keep a record. I have a cardiologist who just gave me meds, never explained anything, and everything I know about Afib, is from this side and the internet. He last saw me last November, he told me he would see me again in Winter, but did not tell me which one. I feel like I kind of fell through the cracks of the medical system.
Sorry for going on like that.
I have an appt. with my Family doctor and will ask him to send me to another Cardiologist
I am allergish to the metalparts on the holder monitor too , so I know how you feel.
Thinking of you Margot
