Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
Like I said it takes a Village (or an AF website membership) to raise a Party.
ScottZZ is 'gonna be the point man from here on. No worries he only gets beligerant/confrontational when you talk about MG and P supplements.
Maybe IslandLuvr will donate some of her outstanding organizational and planning skills as well - after all.
I'm sure if this thing does ever get off the ground we can count on Carrie (aka: CLane) to provide Fello-Shots for all. That's a Jello Shot made with Flecainide. I hear it's pretty kick-a$$ stuff.
Now all of that/this said. We really need to seriously start working on this AF Reality Series Concept, now that's where Petey comes in.
....to be continued (for good or not).
Happy Fourth of July Week and TGIF Eve 2012 everyone. ;)
Heart Rhythm 2012 Celebrating Our Patients!
The Society's 33rd Annual Scientific Sessions, held May 9-12, 2012 in Boston, MA showcased the latest science, discovery and innovation that are essential to quality care for our patients. Attendees explored state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment options from internationally recognized leaders in our field, during more than three full days of learning.
We have an excuse for our significant others that won't want to attend, meet each other, discuss what we learned, maybe have lunch with Mellanie True Hills and some of the big EPs like Andrea Natale etc, and have some activities and fun. There are awesome restaurants there too. petey
Wow. That's a pretty big deal and for 3 + days. Boston's an absolutely awesome city. Easy to walk and get around in and yes great restaurants, galleries and the waterfront etc. Truly the medical mecca of New England. Who knows maybe they'll have an AF break though cure by then. ;)
I was floored when I read what you said about me, "Beligerant/Confrontational", oh wow. That sounds scary :-)
I probably should borrow the scary picture of Jack Nickelson (from Shinny the movie) from petey and put it up. It will be good enough to scare the heck out of all the new comers to the site, LOL. But, that would be cruel :-)
Any way, I was laughing so hard that even my wife wanted to know what I was reading. She thought it was pretty funny too. That was a good one.
As far as spending time (vacation) with a bunch of arrogant EPs and Cardiologists learning about afib, no thanks, not my cup of tea, sorry LOL. But, spending time in Boston sounds great. It is one of my favorite cities.
By the way, if you have seen any nice, honest, AND competent EP or cardiologists, please let me know. The ones I saw (a total of 13) were all either competent and very arrogant (like fighter pilots), or nice and they didn't know what the hell they were doing, LOL.
Well, I hope I did not disappoint you, Surfrat (Thomas), hahahahahah
Scott
"Sex" sells but this is a G-PG rated site so "drama" is the next best thing.
I actually was not aware of Petey's suggestion and the city of host. Although a pricey time with a night or two in accommodations etc. it really would be a pretty fascinating/informative adventure. Who knows maybe they'll raffle off one of those expensive OMRON Monitor Thingys $$$$$$$$.
Maybe by next May some advancements will be achieved - who knows? As for the EPs/Cardios, that's funny you should say these things. Several Pharmacists have made remarks regarding these professional and their usually - unusual dispositions. My EP is like the Marine Sargent in Full Metal Jacket - very tough and few words.
;) - Thomas
We can handle them... we are foo fighters!
