Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

Hello everyone, I noticed a lot of meds being mentioned, (most I've never heard of), except Coreg. I've been on Coreg since I first got diagnosed. I recently received prescriptions for Flecainide and Pradaxa. I have not got them filled yet I really don't know what I'm waiting for. Is anyone else on Coreg? Thank You

from my limited experience and reading the posts here I would say there seems to be an array of meds and procedures used for Afib. efficacy and side effects are the reason I am here to learn from others. be well, Rich

I used Coreg for about a week--it made my pulse very low and I felt like I was breathing like a beluga whale--once every 10 minutes when I rise from the deep ocean waters! My doctor loves it and wanted to put me on that instead of Toprol, but he decided on the Toprol instead--not sure why!

always ask the doc. as I read the posts here, the more I realize how many different options there are to relieve and control symptoms. I try to be as proactive as possible and not simply accept decisions and treatment. it gets more complicated when there are more than one disease/condition to deal with. be well,
