So the propofol masked the a fib or stopped it?

Propofol by itself would be conscious sedation, I was a dead body........General anesthesia refers to the suppression of activity in the central nervous system, resulting in unconsciousness and total lack of sensation..... one or more drugs are commonly used for this type. Problem is it can suppress afib as Dr Natale told me that's why he uses higher dose of isoproternol.

I think they use a combo of propofol, versed and fentanyl.

Thank you all for your support!! The colo is done!! Thank God!! I didn't go into a fib!!! I discussed it with the anesthesiologist and she was ready in case it happened. I did take the metoprolol yesterday at the start of the prep and this morning during prep #2. I don't know if that helped or not. I was afraid it would make my BP go too low, but my BP was sky high -probably due to anxiety. I didnt' stop breathing either (sleep apnea)-which was a problem I had before. I think it's because they put me on my side, harder to quit breathing.

I did have some polyps, so now it's a waiting game for the biopsy. But one thing at a time...

I hope yours goes well too, Yogacat!! I would say to discuss it with the anesthesiologist before the procedure. It's good to have them armed and ready!!
