Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

cardioversion yes or no

Morning. Many great ppl here. Just wondering. Seeing cardi from st coud mn heart and vascular.on nov 18. .im on coumadin and calcium blocker. And have been told cardioversion is the next step for my afib...
Since I am asymptomatic. I never feel anything. In last month. Have lost 20 lbs quit cigs and coffee. Eating healthy. Ect....just want to know what
Potential. Success rate of cardioversion. And im 63. Good health otherwise. Thanks for listening to my rant. Tony

When diagnosed, I was given Med. to convert me, but it did not work. I self converted the next day.

I have never had a Cardioversion.

Acupuncture could work, but I m not totally sold on it. I self converted once with Acu after hours of taking certain supplements, and once with just Acu, I did not self convert and was cardioverted. Dr sinatras site has the points to target with Acu. First and foremost, get back to NSR, like someone said, cardioversion gives you some time to decide what to do next.

Thanks hw and yoga and mchale for info and shef you are right has to be 3 to 4 weeks of 2 to 3. On inr before they will cardiovert at st cloud mn heart and vascular ......appreciate all the advice.....only good thing is my heart rate never goes above 100. Peace

All I know is afib is a life changing experience.....and all I know is that ppl like Paul and yoga and trav and hwk and many others on this site
have helped me get over anxiety and other problems with some of their methods of relaxation and such......I just pray to God that we can all beat this wicked AF and at least for now find our way to deal with it
