Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
Over the last month or two this has been happening almost every week. AFIB (6 hours), legs cramps, peeing, anxiety. I guess maybe I over did it working 6 hours last night on evening shift. I had to take a Xanax. This stinks.
So today I'm going to :
1: Call the endocrinologist to get a script for my thyroid blood work. Need to make sure my thyroid hasnt gone hyper again.
2: Call the cardiologist and move up my appointment;
3: Call the cardio electro physiologist and move up that appointment. Last time I saw him (3 months ago) my AFIB burden was down to 4 1/2% (from the monitor in my chest, last year it was 13.5%). I know it has gone up over the last 3 months. When saw him last he was suggesting another ablation (last one 2 years ago) or rhymol (some people do well with this drug, some have nasty side effects, all of thee drugs stop working eventually). It may be time to go to the next step. I hate, I hate it, I hate it!
Today I skipped the gym, I feel like crap.
So today I'm going to :
