Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
The pills are the reason I am alive and so well that I am back at work and some days feeling quite good. And yet, I have a life threatening condition that can end in SDS.
I asked at my second visit to the cardiologist....what is the most important thing I can do to help myself? He said, make sure you take your medication on time every time.
so I do. I even bought a little pill box that has AM and PM on each compartment and 7 days for the week. ($7.50) and well worth it.
I take 10 pills a day (4 in AM and 6 in PM) and all I do is fill the pill container every sunday morning and then I can easily see if I were to forget.
I do feel rather old by having to have a pill box but - you know what? I don't care....I am alive.
cheers Leanne
