Yes, this could well be thrush. It could also be a latent form of herpes which could appear as the immune system is weakened in which case it could clear on its own. You need to be seen by a doctor to confirm what this is and be treated.

There are many different treatment options including Diflucan and other pills. There are also medications which are swished around the mouth and swallowed to kill fungus which could also be in the esophogus. If it is herpes, there are also antiviral drugs, though I'm not sure they would be used for this purpose.

To prevent this you could rinse with Listerine or Cepacol. There is no guarentee that these will work all the time though, but it's worth a try.

Thrush is a yeast infection in your mouth. Its not a big deal, but you need medication to treat it. I would check out that website it should have pictures. It wont hurt to ask the doctor!

I make an appointment, and everything is cleared up. I can't even show them what I was talking about. I'm still deciding if it's worth going still or not. usually they'd do a culture to see, but there's nothing to culture. I truly now believe it's my new toothbrush; I got a med. bursh instead of soft and I think I just brushed way too hard in fear of thrush. Like your shoe rubbing the back of your heel blisters formed. No puss, or pain. Only in one single spot.

How ironic is this; I got an antibiotic for another infection, and I also got diflucan for the well expected yeast infection. Guess it all worked out even if the blisters are gone in my mouth! Still haven't found anymore. Thank God.

I have just been diagnosed with thrush...I have been prescribed yet another medication to treat it (a gargle type med).

I wonder if it was my inefficient rinsing after using Advair, or a combination of things: on anti biotics for cellulitis too. Isn't Xolair supposed to boost my immune system??? I also notice my contact dermitis is acting up. Are all these things related???

These things are probbly all related as Xolair works by shutting off, not strengthening, part of the immune system. Like steroids, when one part of the immune system is shut off, this leave other parts vulnerable.

I wonder if the little spots i get on the roof of my mouth are something to do with using my inhaler? Mine are like clear spots that seem to come and go. They seem to be triggered off when i eat or drink though!! Weird i am like you aswell most time i visit the doctors i never have any so don't bother mentioning it.

This is most likely episodes of thrush and should be discussed with your doctor. It's easily treated with either nystatin "mouthwash" or diflucan pills.

Ironically enough, my Dr. looked into my throat this last appt. (because of my laryngitis) and told me that he didn't see any fungus or yeast! I didn't know that could cause all the hoarseness I had too??!!

Orson if say it was thrush could tha make my throat feel raw or would all that be down to reflux? Plus thrush does not go by itself does it, these things come and go quick.

Thrush is often due to inhaled corticosteriods. I often get it even though use corsedol to wash my mouth out with before and after inhalers and nebs. Although horrid to have it is quite common. I find that it does flare up and die down and also eatin can aggrvate it if it is not bad it gets worse after eating and then dies down again. It wont go away by itself. you either need anibiotcs or an antibiotic mouth rinse. I se nystatin whihc is really good and my cons put lidcaine in it so that it numbs my mouth too as it gets quite sore.

Udo's Choice Super 5 Vitamens are apparently good at preventing thrush because of the extra high dosage of probiotics in them. I was advised by the Pharmacist to take them when I was on antibiotics for a chest infection. Might be worth a try, although they are costly!
