Asthma is a disease of the human respiratory system where the airways narrow, often in response to a "trigger" such as exposure to an allergen, cold air, exercise, or emotional stress. This airway narrowing causes symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing, which respond to bronchodilators.
OK, so it's quite ironic that I went to go strawberry picking with my friend and kids today. As I was eating them, I felt my throat get the tiniest bit tight, and my chest get really tight. My asthma has been acting stupid in general, I've actually been compliant and have used my advair twice a day! I had my allergy testing a yr and a half ago and that was one of the very few things that was NOT positive. Do you think that I need to bring this up to my Pulmonologist when I follow up with him? I don't know if it was my asthma or a reaction. My rescue inhaler, and sitting up made it easier to breath (I was lieing on the couch). I just know you don't mess around with food allergies is all. The more you are exposed to an allergin, the more sever the reactions can become. What do ya guys and dolls think???
My son is severely allergic to peanuts and was an athlete at college. One day the university cafeteria used peanut oil in the preperation of some of the food on the line and didn't label it. My son ate some and had an immediate reaction. Only after several shots was he out of danger.
Do tell your Doc. It's nothing to fool around with.

Yeah go and tell your docotr. you can also get a blood test done to see if you are allergic to anything else.
