Asthma Support Group
Asthma is a disease of the human respiratory system where the airways narrow, often in response to a "trigger" such as exposure to an allergen, cold air, exercise, or emotional stress. This airway narrowing causes symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing, which respond to bronchodilators.

I have a chest infection on my left lung and a really good wheeze. My chest hurts and I have been given antibiotics by the doctor. Im not coughing anything up. Usually my chest infections have not been like this. Im just worried about it and hope it goes away soon. I can,t even sleep with it. I know a few people with asthma and they seem to have it well controlled. I was on two inhalers until last year when I had an attack and had to go into hospital with it. I then got a bit of pleurisy and my chest has not been right since. Im now under the respiratory doctor and they changed my inhaler to Symbicort. Is anyone else in the same situation? The Symbicort seems ok but this episode with my lung isn,t good. I don,t know when I see the specialist again so need to chase them up.

I am sorry you are not well. I too am just getting over a chest cold and still have phlegm. Try a cool mist humidifier in your bedroom at night until you feel at least 80% better. Try also yoga, deep breathing exercises. It really helps!!! These exercises build up your lungs and helps to get rid of phleg. You will get better much faster. Do the exercises daily. Make yoga a life long goal!!! It is for anyone with any kind of respiratory illnesses.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
