Asthma Support Group
Asthma is a disease of the human respiratory system where the airways narrow, often in response to a "trigger" such as exposure to an allergen, cold air, exercise, or emotional stress. This airway narrowing causes symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing, which respond to bronchodilators.
I've found that a warm towel (either hot water or dryer-heated) over the ribs/chest area can help with pain...Same goes for a heating pad or hot water bottle. Unless your doctor has said not to, you might try taking mucinex or robtussin so you can better cough up that yucky green stuff. Try to avoid cough suppressants except at night.
I'm gonna say it again--drink, drink, drink! Water or hot drinks preferably to thin out the mucus and keep you hydrated.
That's all I can think of right now. Hope you feel better soon! I had bronchitis over Christmas, so know it's miserable.
Love,
Anna Faith
